190 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus indorsed to wit Received the second day of July 1771 of the within named Anthony Stewart the Sum of three hundred and eleven pounds ten Shillings Pensilvania Currency it being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be paid by him Witness James Dundass John Buchanan by his Attorney Charles Steuart Then came James Dick before me the Subscriber one of Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and by Virtue of a Power of Attorney from the within named John Buchanan bearing Date the tenth Day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty one and duely recorded amongst the Provincial Land Records did acknowledge the within Instrument of Writing to be their Act and Deed of the said John Buchanan and the Lands and Premises therein mentioned to be Right and Estate of the within named Anthony Stewart his Heirs & Assigns according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof Dan.l of S Tho.s Jenifer Received of M.r Anthony Stewart the sum of one Pound sixteen Shillings and two pence Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore it being the Alienation Money on the within Land by Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General John Brice 10 sides Recorded this 2.d day of July 1771 X.d This Indenture made the second Day of July in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy one Between James Dick of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland Merchant of the one part and Anthony Stewart of the said County and Province Merchant of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Dick fr and in Consideration of the Sum of Forty pounds Sterling Money to him in hand paid by the said Anthony Stewart at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & of and every part and Parcel thereof doth clearly and absolutely acquit and discharge the said Anthony Stewart his Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them by these presents Hath granted bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed and Confirmed And by these Presents doth grant bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, Release and Confirm unto him the said Anthony Stewart his Heirs and Assigns for ever All that Piece or Parcell of Land being part of a Tract of Land called Scorton and Burge lying in Ann Arundell County aforesaid and beginning at a Chesnut post being the Northermost Boundary of a Piece of Land laid out for the Orphans of the deceased Richard Moore & Close to which Post a Stone is now planted and running thence North forty four Degrees and one Quarter of a Degree West Ninety five Perches to a Cedar Post standing in the Line of Burge and Scorton at the Distance of one hundred and fifty nine Perches and three Quarters of a Perch from (the) |
