181 and every of them the said Crop of Tobacco above mention'd to be bargained and sold unto the said Edward Dorsey his Executors Administrators and Assigns shall and will against all persons whatsoever warrant and for ever defend by these presents In witness whereof I the said Nathan Dorsey have hereunto in the presence of the undersigned Witnesses set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty first Day of May one thousand seven hundred and seventy one Signed seal'd and delivered Nathan Dorsey (seal) in Presence of his Peter + Porter Jun.r mark Jam.s Casey On the back of the aforegoing Bill of Sale was thus Endorsed to wit, On the twenty eighth Day of May one thousand seven hundred and seventy one Came before me the subscriber one of his Lordship the Lord Proprietaries Justices of the Peace in and for Anne Arundel County the within named Nathan Dorsey and acknowledged the within Sale to be his Act and Deed according to the true Intent and meaning thereof and the within mentioned Crop of Tobacco to be the Right Title Estate and Property of the within named Edw.d Dorsey his Heirs and Assigns for ever As witness my hand John Burgess Jun.r Recorded this 3.d Day of June 1771 41½ X.d This Indenture made the Eighteenth Day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred seventy one, between Samuel Preston Moore Mordecai Moore, Thomas Moore and Charles Moore of the City and County of Philadelphia in the province of Pennsylvania of the one part, and Anthony Stewart of Annapolis in the province of Maryland ^Merchants^ of the other part Whereas the said Samuel Preston Moore Mordecai Moore Thomas Moore and Charles Moore sued out of the Provincial Court of the said Province of Maryland his Lordships Writt of Partition bearing Date on or about the twenty third Day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty three directed to the Sheriff of Ann Arundel County commanding him to divide part of a Tract of Land Called Scorton and Burge lying in the same County between the said Samuel Preston Moore Mordecai Moore Thomas Moore and Charles Moore and the Children of Richard Moore of the same County deceased, in Virtue of which Writt the Sheriff of the County aforesaid did summon a Jury and Partition of the Land aforesaid was made on or about the twenty ninth Day of the same Month in the year last aforesaid, which Writt hath been since returned to the Justices of the Provincial Court aforesaid and Judgement thereon had according to the Tenor of the said Return And whereas the said Anthony Stewart hath since the Partition aforesaid purchased of the said Samuel Preston Moore, Mordecai Moore Thomas Moore and Charles Moore One hundred and fifteen Acres and three quarters of an Acre, a part or parcell of the said Land allotted to them and hereafter described, and also has purchased of the said Samuel Preston Moore, Mordecai Moore, Thomas Moore and Charles Moore one other Tract of Land called Security Containing Sixty two and one half Acres Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said Samuel Preston Moore, (Mordecai) |
