173 forever In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have hereunto interchangeably Set their hands and affixed their Seals the Day and Year first above written his Signed Sealed and Delivered Benjamin B Ingram (seal) in y.e Presence of mark J Beale Howard Corbin Lee (seal) Jas Gittings Rob.t Alexander (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was Endorsed as follows, Viz.t Signed Sealed & Delivered by Corbin Lee & Rob.t Alexander in the presence of Murdoch Kennedy Received of Corbin Lee the sum of One hundred and thirty eight pounds Current Money the Consideration mentioned to be by him paid to me his Witness J Beale Howard Benj.a B Ingram Jas Gittings mark On the Twenty first Day of November one thousand seven hundred and seventy Benjamin Ingram Party to the within Indenture came and acknowledged the within Instrument of writing as his Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the said Corbin Lee his Heirs and Assigns according to the true intent and meaning of the within Indenture And at the Same Time came Susannah the wife of the said Benjamin Ingram and being privately examined apart from and out of the Hearing of her said Husband did Declare all her Right Title and Claim of Dower of and in the said Land and Premisses unto the said Corbin Lee his Heirs and Assigns and did Declare she made the same acknowledgment of her own Free will and consent without being induced thereto by any Threats of her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure J Beale Howard Recorded this 27th Day of April 1771 Jas Gittings 8½ sides X.d This Indenture made the tenth Day of November in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Between Thomas Sligh of Baltimore County Planter of the one Part and Basil Burgess of Ann Arundel County Planter of the other part Whereas the said Basil Burgess hath obtained Judgment in the Provincial Court against the said Thomas Sligh as well for the Sum of two hundred Pounds Sterling Debt and the sum of Six hundred and forty Pounds of Tobacco Costs which Judgment is in full force not paid or Satisfied Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Thomas Sligh for and towards Satisfaction and payment of the sums of Money and Tobacco due on the above Judgment and also in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings Sterling to him paid by the said Basil Burgess the Receit whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath granted bargained and Sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these Presents Doth grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff and confirm to him the said Basil Burgess All those remaining (or un Sold parts of those) two Lots or Parcels of Ground situate lying and being in that Part of Baltimore Town formerly called Jones's Town know and Distinguished in the Plan of the said Town by the Numbers thirteen and fourteen together with all Buildings Improvements Gardens Ways Passages Benefits (Priviledges) |
