167. that the name of the said Henry Procter Jun.r to the said Deed and Receipt Subscribed is of his own hand writing and that the said Deed and Receipt were executed and signed as aforesaid in the Presence of the said Thomas Jordan also the other subscribing witness whose name thereto is of the Hand writing of the said Thomas Jorden Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer On the Nineteenth Day of April Seventeen hundred and Seventy one Came the within named Bartholomew Pomeroy of by the within named Ralph Forster his Attorney thereto lawfully Authorized and Appointed by the Power within mentioned before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and for and in the name of the said Bartholomew Pomeroy acknowledged the three Lotts and one half Lott of Ground therein mentioned and every Part and Parcell thereof and Premisses with the Appurtenances to be the Right and Estate of the within named Samuel Galloway his Heirs and Assigns forever according to the true intent and meaning of the same writing and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and Provided Recorded this 19th Day of April 1771 W.m Hayward 8¾ sides X.d This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of January in the year seventeen hundred and seventy one Between John Hammond Dorsey of Baltimore County of the one part and Richard Lane of Calvert County of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Hammond Dorsey for and in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred and eighty three Pounds fourteen shillings and ten pence Sterling Money to him in hand paid by the said Richard Lane before the ensealing and Delivery hereof the receipt whereof the said John Hammond Dorsey doth hereby acknowledge Hath given granted bargained Sold aliened released enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth give grant bargain Sell alien release enfeoffe and Confirm unto him the said Richard Lane his Heirs and Assigns All that Lot of Land lying and being in the Town of Joppa in Baltimore County aforesaid lately in the tenure and Occupation of certain James Christie and John Boyd and now in the tenure and Occupation of the said James Christie Together with all and singular the Houses Outhouses Edifices Buildings Gardens Ways Priviledges Advantages Premisses and Appurtenances to the same Lot of Land belonging or Appurtaining and the Reversion and Reversions remainder and remainders Rents Issues and Profitts thereof and of every part and Parcell thereof And also all the Estate Right Title Interest Use Trust Profit Property claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said John Hammond Dorsey of in and to the same Lot of Ground or Land and every Part and Parcell thereof and Premisses with the Appurtenances To have and to hold the said Lot of Land and every part and Parcell thereof and Premisses with the Appurtenances to him the said Richard Lane his Heirs and Assigns to the only proper use and Behoofe of the said Richard Lane his Heirs and Assigns forever Provided always and upon Condition that of the said John Hammond Dorsey his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns do and shall well and truly or cause to be paid to the said Richard Lane his Executors Administrators or Assigns the aforesaid sum of one hundred and eighty three pounds fourteen shillings and ten pence Sterling and Interest thereon at or upon the twenty Sixth Day of January seventeen hundred and seventy two then this Indenture and every Clause therein to be void and of none effect And the said John Hammond Dorsey for himself his Heirs Executors and Administrators doth hereby Covenant Grant Promise and Agree to and with the said Richard Lane his Executors Administrators and Assigns that he the said John Hammond Dorsey his Heirs Executors or Administrators shall and will well and truly pay or cause to be paid to the said Richard Lane his Executors Administrators (or) |
