141 Received the Day and Year within Written of and from the within Named Reverdy Ghiselin the within Sums of six hundred and five pounds and one hundred and five Pounds amounting in the whole to the sum of seven hundred and Ten pounds Pensylvania Current Money being the Consideration Money within Expressed I say received P me Witness, Jn.o Brice Anthony Stewart Colin Campbell On the 26 Day of November one thousand seven hundred and Seventy Came the within named Anthony Steuart before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and did acknowledge the within Deed to be ^his^ Act and Deed and the Lands and Premisses within mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named Reverdy Ghiselin his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true intent and meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Cases made and Provided Philip Thomas Lee 1770 November the 26.th Received of M.r Reverdy Ghiselin one Penny Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore it being the Alienation Fine on the within Lands by Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and receiver General Jn Brice Recorded the 11.th day of April 1771 Examined P W.m Harwood Deputy Clerk Prov.l Court 12 sides x.d By this Publick Instrument of Procuration or Letter of Attorney be it known that on the Sixth Day of November in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Sixty Six Before me Abraham Ogier Notary Publick dwelling in London duly admitted and sworn and in the Presence of the Witneses hereafter named personally appeared M.r William Molleson of London Merchant who declared to have made ordained constituted and appointed and by these Presents doth make ordain constitute and appoint M.r Thomas Contee of Charles County in Maryland Merchant is true and lawful attorney giving and hereby granting unto his said attorney full Power and lawful authority for him in his Name and on his Behalf to ask demand sue for and by all lawful ways and means whatsoever recover and receive of and from all and every Person or Persons whom it shall or may concern all such sum and sums of Money Merchandizes Debts and Effects as now is or are or shall or may hereafter be due owing and payable unto him the said Constituent whether by Bond, Note, Bill, Book Debt Account Consignment or for or by what other Reasons or means soever nothing excepted or reserved and to that End with all and every Person or Persons whom it shall or may concern to account and to view state settle and adjust all accounts and the Ballance thereof to receive upon Recovery and Receipt in the Premisses to give one or more sufficient acquittances and Discharges in Due form of Law also if need be to appear in any Court or Courts and before all Lords Judges and Justices there to do sai implead arrest attach and Prosecute as occasion shall be or require also to Compound Conclude and agree by (arbitration) |
