123 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed to wit. Received the 21 Day of January the within Indenture of the within named Joshua Griffith the Sum of one hundred and fifty pounds Sterling Money being the Consideration £150 Money within mentioned to be paid by him Tho.s Bond Elisha Dorsey Tho.s Talbott Baltimore County fs.t January 21 1771 Be it remembered that the within Named Elisha Dorsey came before us the subscribers two of the Right Honorable the Lord Proprietary's Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid and acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and the Lands and Premisses with the Appurtenances thereby bargained and Sold, to be the Estate of the within named Joshua Griffith his Heirs and Assigns forever taken and Certifyed. Came also before us Mary Dorsey wife to the said Elisha Dorsey and being by Us privately examined out of the Hearing of her said Husband declared and acknowledged that she freely consented to the within Deed being made by her said Husband and for any Right of Dower Jointure or other Right whatsoever She had or any ways might have to the Lands and Premisses thereby bargained and Sold she freely acknowledged the within Lands and Premisses by the within Deed bargained and ^sold^ to be the Estate of the within Named Joshua Griffith his Heirs and Assigns forever and that she made the above acknowledgement willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by Force or threats of ill usage by her Husband or Fear of his Displeasure taken and Certifyed according to an Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Tho.s Bond Tho.s Talbott Maryland Baltimore County fs.t I hereby Certify that Thomas Bond and Thomas Talbot of the County afsd Gentlemen before whom the acknowledgement to Seal this Instrument of writing appears to have been taken were at the time of taking the same and still are Two of the Right Honourable the Lord proprietary his Justices of the Peace duly and Legally Commissioned authorized and sworn and to all such acknowledgments before them so made and taken all due faith and credit is and ought to be given as well in Justice Court as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereto Set my Hand and affixed the Seal of the County afsd this 22.d day of January 1771 A Lawson Cl Recorded this 14.th of March 1771 of Balt Cty Court 13 sides X.d This Indenture made this Ninteenth day of September in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Seventy Between Benjamin Griffith of Ann Arundell County in the Province of Maryland of the one part and Orlando Griffith of the County and Province aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Griffith for and in Consideration of Twenty Pound Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid before the ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof he the said Benjamin Griffith doth hereby Acknowledge and himself therewith fully Satisfied Contented and paid and therefore hath granted Bargain'd Sold enfeoff'd ^convey'd and^ Confirmed and by these presents doth Clearly Truly and Absolutely Grant Bargain Sell alien enfeeoff Convey and Confirm unto him the said Orlando Griffith his Heirs and Assigns forever all his the aforesaid Benjamin Griffith.s Right Title Interest Claim and Demand whatever to all the two following Tracts or Parcels of Land lying and being in Frederick County County (in) |
