12. On the Back of the aforegoing Power of Attorney was thus Endorsed Viz.t Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid James Wills one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the within Power of Attorney and made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that he was personally present and did see Samuel Pristine Moore Charles Moore and Margaret Morris sign Seal and Execute as their proper Act and Deed the Power of Attorney within written and that the Names Samuel Pristine Moore Charles Moore and Margaret Morris thereto set as the Parties Executing and the Name James Wills thereto set as a Subscribing Witness is the proper hand writing of the said Samuel Pristine Moore Charles & Margaret Morris and this Deponent Sworn to before me this 25.th Day of June Anno Dom Seventeen hundred and seventy W.m Steuart Recorded the 25.th June 1770 4½ Sides x.d Know all men by these Presents that I Rachel Moore formerly of Maryland but now of ^Philadelphia in^ Pensylvania have constituted made & appointed & by these Presents do constitute make and appoint my Trusty and Loving friend Henry Hill of the City of Philadel.a aforesaid my true and lawful Attorney for me and in my Name and stead and to my use to ask Demand sue for Levy recover and receive all such Sum and Sums of Money Debts Rents Goods Wares dues Accounts and other Demands whatsoever which are or shall be due owing payable and belonging to me or detained from me any Manner of ways or means whatsoever & further to Dispose of and sell the remainder of my Lease of a certain Tract of Land in Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland commonly known by the Name of Homminy pot Quarter and all my Stock and Effects thereon and as it is my Desire to give Freedom to all my Negroes there in such Manner as not to encumber my Estate hereafter I hereby empower him to take such Steps to Effect that purpose as he shall Judge Necessary giving and ranting unto my said Attorney by these Presents my full and whole Powers Strength and Authority in and about the Premises and to have use and take all lawful Ways and Means in my Name for the Recovery of any Debts dues or Sums of Money and to give acquittances or other sufficient Discharges for me and in my Name to make Seal and deliver and generally all and every other Act and Acts thing and things device or devices in the Law whatsoever needful and necessary to be done in and about the Premises for me and in my Name to do Execute and perform as fully Largely and amply to all Intents and Purposes as I myself might or Could do if I was personally present or as if the Matter required more Especial Authority than is herein given and Attorneys one or more under him for the Purpose aforesaid to make and constitute and again at Pleasure to revoke ratifying allowing and holding for firm and Effectual all & whatsoever my said Attorney shall lawfully do in & about the Premises by Virtue hereof In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventh day of April in the Year of his Majestys Reign Annoque Domini one Thousand seven hundred and seventy Sealed & Delivered Richard Wells in the Presence of us James Wills Rachel Moore (seal) Thomas Wise |
