119 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed to wit Received the Sixteenth day of August 1770 of the within named James Russell by the Hands of his Attorney Charles Grahame the sum of Two hundred & seventy five pounds Sterling being the consideration money mentioned to be paid us Philip Thomas Lee Mary McCullock Nath Nicholson Anthony Stewart Be it remembered that on the sixteenth day of August 1770 came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships ^Justices^ of the Provincial Court Mary McCullock & Anthony Stewart parties to the within Indenture and did acknowledge the same to be their Act and Deed and the Land and premisses with the Appurtenances therein mentioned to be the right title and Estate of the within mentioned James Russell his heirs and Assigns forever, according to the true Intent and Meaning of the said Indenture and the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided Philip Thomas Lee Received of M.r Charles Grahame the sum of one penny Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore it being the Alienation Money of the Land Exprest in the within Deed By Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan Esq.r his said Lordships agent and Receiver General John Brice Recorded 7.th day of February 1771 9 sides Ex.d This Indenture made the Twentyth Day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy one Between John Stevenson of Baltimore County and Province of Maryland Planter of the one part and Nicholas Maccubbin of the City of Annapolis and Province aforesaid Merchant of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Stevenson for and in Consideration of the Sum of one hundred and six pounds thirteen Shillings and four pence Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid at or before the Sealing and Delivery hereof by the said Nicholas Maccubbin well and truly paid the receipt of which the said John Stevenson Doth hereby acknowledge and thereof and of every part and parcel thereof Doth Clearly acquit Release and Discharge the said Nicholas Maccubbin his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns and every of them for ever by these presents the said John Stevenson Doth Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Nicholas Maccubbin his Heirs and Assigns forever all that part of a Tract of Land called or known by the Name of Edward and Wills Valies and Hills Beginning at Two double marked Oaks and running thence North Seven Degrees East Sixty three perches to a walnut then North thirty two perches then East twenty perches then North forty two Degrees East fifty six pearches then south Eighty seven degrees East one hundred perches then North Seventy nine perches then West two hundred and forty six perches then South South West Two hundred and ten perches then South by West Ninety two perches then with a Straight Line to the beginning Containing and now laid out for two hundred and Ninety Acres of Land more or less lying and being in Baltimore County aforesaid with all and Singular the Edifices Improvements and Appurtenances to the said Land belonging or which are Deemed to belong to the said Land and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and other Profits of the said Land and Premises hereby Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and every part and parcel thereof and all the Estate Right Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever both in Law and Equity of the said John Stevenson therein and thereunto To have and To hold all the said Tract or parcel of a Tract of Land and Premises aforesaid to Occupy Possess and enjoy the same with all and singular the Premises herein before (mentioned) |
