103 all and every such further and other Act or Acts Assurances or Conveyances in the Law as by the said Henry Gassaway his heirs or Assigns or his or their Council Learned in the Law shall from time to time Reasonable devised Advised for the further & Better Assurance Surety and sure making of all and singular the Premises hereby bargained and Sold so that there be no warrant contained therein than to warrant the same from the said Nicholas Gassaway and his heirs according to the true intent and meaning of these Presents In Witness whereof the said Nicholas Gassaway has hereunto set his hand & Seal the Day & Year first above written Signed Sealed & Delivered in the Presence of Nicholas Gassaway (Seal) John Burgess Jun.r On the Back of the aforegoing Deed is thus Endorsed to wit H Ridgely 1770 November 27.th Received of Henry Gassaway the sum of two hundred Pounds Sterling Money in full for the within Consideration Money Witness Nicholas Gassaway John Burgess Jun.r H Ridgely Anne Arundel County fs.t On the 27.th Day of Novemb.r Anno Domini 1770 Came the within named Nicholas Gassaway Party to the within Deed before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for the said County and Acknowledged the within Deed and the Land and Premises therein contained to be the right and Estate of the within named Henry Gassaway his heirs and Assigns Forever and Acknowledged the same to be his Act and Deed according to an Act of Assembly in that case made and Provided And at the same time came Catharine Gassaway Wife of the said Nicholas and acknowledged her right of Dower to the within Mentioned Lands to be ^the^ right & Estate of the within named Henry Gassaway his heirs and Assigns forever and that she did the same of her own free will without any Compultion from her Husband or fear of his Displeasure taken & Acknowledged Before John Burgess Jun.r H Ridgely Received of M.r Henry Gassaway (son of Nicholas the sum of Eleven Shillings & two Pence Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore it being the Alienation Money on the within Land by Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Recorded 19.th December 1770 J Brice sides Exam.d This Indenture made the twentieth Day of December Anno Domini One Thousand seven hundred and seventy between William Witherow of Frederick County yeoman of the one part and Charles Carroll Esquire of the City of Annapolis of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Witherow for and in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred and Ninety Pounds one Shilling and seven (pence) |
