       On the Back of the aforegoing Letter was thus Written viz.t

          Be it remembered that on the fourteenth day of June in the year of our Lord Christ
       one thousand seven hundred and sixty six before me the subscriber one of the Justices
       of the Provincial Court of Maryland personally appeared the above named Samuel Middleton
       one of the Subscribing witnesses to the within ^and above^ power of attorney and made oath
       on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that he was present at the Execution thereof
       and did see the above named Frederick Haldiman sign seal and as his act & deed
       deliver the same to and for the uses and purposes therein mentioned & at the same
       time the above Thomas Barnsley the other subscribing witness subscribed his Name
       as a witness in this deponants presence

             This Indenture Made the Sixteenth Day of August in the Year of our Lord one
       Thousand seven Hundred & sixty five between William Strachan of London Town in the
       County of Ann Arundel of the one Part and Anthony Stewart of the City of Annapolis Merchant
       of the other Part Whereas by Indentures bearing Date on or about the Third
       Day of January last past Between a certain James Dick of the one Part and the said
       William Strachan of the other Part the said James Dick as surviving Executor of the last
       Will and Testament of the said William Peele late of Ann Arundel County deceas'd and
       under the power and authority and in virtue of the last will and Testament of the
       said William Peele did Grant Bargain Sell Alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said
       William Strachan for the Consideration therein mentioned a Tract of Land called Sympsons
       Stones containing one hundred & fifty three Acres more or less situate lying and being
       in the County aforesaid near Huntington also one other Tract of Land called Batchelors
       Choice containing one hundred Acres more or Less situate lying and being in the County
       aforesaid on the South Side of the Main Falls of Patapsico River To have and to Hold
       the said Tracts of Land unto the said William Strachan his Heirs and Assigns forever
       as by the said recited Deeds recorded in the Provincial Court Land records reference
       being thereto had may more fully & at Large appear   Now this Indenture Witnesseth that
       the said William Strachan for and in consideration of the sum of fifty Pounds Current
       Money to him in hand paid by the said Anthony Stewart the Receipt whereof he doth hereby
       acknowledge & thereof doth acquit and discharge the said Anthony Stewart his Heirs
       Exrs Administrators and Assigns and every of them by these presents Hath given
       granted bargained sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these
       presents doth grant bargain sell alien release enfeoff & confirm unto the said
       Anthony Stewart his Heirs & Assigns forever all the aforesaid Trats or parcells
       of Land lying and being in the county aforesaid together with all Houses Buildings
       Gardens ways orchards Woods underwoods waters water Courses Improvements
       advantages Priviledges & appurtenances whatsoever to the said Tracts of Land
       belonging or in any wise appertaining And all the Estate Right Title Interest
       Use Trust possession Claim and demand whatsoever of him the said William
       Strachan of in & unto the Tract of Land aforesaid and premisses with the appurtenances
