(89) paid to me I say received by me Witness Ja Tilghman 3.d Ja.s Hutchings Philemon Lloyd Chew On the Sixteenth day of May seventeen hundred and sixty six Came the within named James Hutchings before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the provincial court for the province of Maryland and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and premisses therein mentioned and every part and parcell thereof with the appurtenances to be the only Right title and Estate of the within named John Beale Bordley his heirs and assigns according to the true intent and meaning of the same writing and the act of assembly in such cases lately made and provided Geo Steuart Received the 21.st May 1766 of John Beale Bordley Esq.r the Sum of twenty two Shillings and five pence Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine for the within lands and by virtue of a commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships AGent and Receiver General John Davidson Sides Recorded 21.st May 1766 Ex.d I Charles Goldsborough 3.d; do Swear that I will not for Lucre or malice delay any person or persons applying to Me for any Business belonging to the Office I officiate in and that I will not directly or indirectly ask demand take or receive from or charge to any such person or persons to my own Use (except my Salary from my principal) any Fee or Reward whatsoever for any Service I Shall do as Clerk of the said Office And also that in making out the Office Fees, I will not wittingly or willingly charge other or higher Fees than limited by the act entituled An Act for Amending the Staple of Tobacco for preventing Frauds in his Majesty's Customs and for the Limitation of Officers Fees Sworn to this 30.th May 1766 Before Recorded 30.th May 1766 Reverdy Ghiselin Ex.d This Indenture Made this 29.th Day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Six Between Thomas Davis of Frederick County Inn holder on the first part Daniel Dulany of the City of Annapolis Esquire of the Second Part and William Williams of Frederick County on the |
