723 and all and Singular the Premises with the Appurtenances unto him the said John Hall his Heirs and Assigns to the Intent and Purpose to make a good and perfect Tenant of the Freehold of all and singular the Lands Tenements and Premises to the End that three or more good and perfect Recoveries in the Nature of Common Recoveries for the Assurance of Lands may in due form of Law be had suffered levied and perfected at the next or some Subsequent Provincial Court one recovery to be suffered for the Lands lying in each County And it is hereby declared by all the Parties to these Presents and the true Intent & meaning hereof is that the said common Recoveries to be had of the Premises or any part thereof shall be and ensue and the said John Hall and his Heirs and the Recoveror or Recoverors in such common Recoveries his and their Heirs shall stand and be seised of all and Singular the Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in such Recovery respectively Contained to and for the use and Behoof of them the said John Cadwallader and Elizabeth his Wife and the Heirs and Assigns of her the said Elizabeth for ever and to and for no other use Intent or Purpose whatsoever In Witness whereof the Parties to these Presents have interchangeably set their Hands and Seals the day and Year ^first^ above Written Signed Sealed & Delivered in the Presence of us John Cadwallader (seal) Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer E Cadwalader (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t April 9.th 1770 Then came John Cadwallader and Elizabeth his Wife before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be their Act and Deed and the Lands and Premises therein contained to be the Right & Estate of the within Named John Hall his Heirs and Assigns according to the True Intent and meaning thereof Also Elizabeth Wife of him the said John Cadwallader being by me privately examined apart from and out of the Hearing of her said Husband did repeat as above and also did declare that she made this Acknowledgment willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by fear or Threats of or ill Usage by her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure Recorded 19.th April 1770 Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer 8 Sides X.d This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of March in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred & seventy Between James Broadaway of Queen Anns County in the Province of Maryland Mariner & Son & Heir of James Broadaway late of Dorchester County Deceased of the one part and Thomas Ringgold of Chester Town in the Province aforesaid Merchant of the other part Witnesseth that the said James Broadaway for and in Consideration of the Sum of four Hundred Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid by the said Thomas the receipt whereof the said James Broadaway doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained sold and Conveyed aliened enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents doth grant Bargain Sell and Convey alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Thomas Ringgold and to his Heirs and Assigns forever all that one Quarter part of a Tract of Land lying and being in Dorchester County and on the Main Branch (of) |
