719 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Received the day and Year within Written of the within named George Moore the Sum of five hundred Pounds Current Money in full for the Consideration Money therein mentioned to be by him payed Witness John Mrray Jn.o Moore Beriah Maybury Cassandra Moore On the 18.th day of April 1770 Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within Named John Moore and Cassandra his Wife and severally acknowledged the within Deed to be their respective Act and Deed and that the within named Premises were the Right and Estate of the within mentioned George Moore his Heirs and Assigns for ever to and for the Uses Intents and Purposes of the within Deed and according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof and the said Cassandra being by me Examined apart from and out of the Hearing of her said Husband John Moore did repeat as aforesaid and did further Declare that she had by the within writing released and did thereby intend to Release all her Right and Title to the within Premises and that she Executed the said writing of her own free will and Consent without any Compulsion or Threats from her said Husband or through fear of his Displeasure Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer Receiv'd of John Moore the Sum of Nine Shillings and ten pence three farthings Sterling it being the Alienation money on four Hundred and ninety seven Acres and a half Acre old Rent for the use of Lord Baltimore by Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan his said Lordships Agent and receiver General 7 sides Recorded 18.th April 1770 Jn.o Brice X.d This Indenture Tripartite made the Nineteenth Day of March in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Seventy Between John Moore of Kent County and Cassandra his wife formerly Cassandra Adair of the first part Samuel Chew of Calvert County Gentleman of the second part and Baker Johnson of Ann Arundel County Gentleman of the third part Witnesseth that for the Docking and barring of all Estates Tail of and in the Lands and Appurtenances herein after mentioned and all and every the Remainder and Remainders thereupon Dependant or expextant and for Settleing and Assuring the same Lands with the Appurtenances to for and upon the Uses Intents and Purposes herein after particularly expressed & declared And for and in Consideration of five Hundred and fifty Pounds to them the said John Moore and Cassandra his wife in hand paid by the said Samuel Chew at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and for other good Causes and Considerations hereunto Moving they the said John Moore and Cassandra his wife Have & each of them Hath given granted bargained sold Aliened released and Confirmed And by these Presents Do and each of them Doth give grant bargain sell Alien release and Confirm unto him the said Samuel Chew his Heirs and Assigns All that Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in Calvert County aforesaid commonly called or known by the Name of Upper (Bennett) |
