698 Received of Anthony Havely the Sum of Three Shillings and four pence Sterling it being the Alienation Money on the within Land for the use of Lord Baltimore by Virtue of a Commission from John Morton Jordan his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General 8 Sides J Brice Recorded 10.th April 1770 Ex.d This Indenture made this second day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Seventy Between Thomas Belt the third on the one part and John Watson of Frederick County in the Province of Maryland Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Belt the third of Anna Arundel County in the aforesaid Province for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred and forty two Pounds eleven Shillings Sterling Money of Great Britain as also the sum of five Shillings like Money the receipts whereof are hereby acknowledged by the said Act and doth Acquit Discharge and Release the said Watson from every part and parcel thereof his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever Hath given granted Bargained and Sold and by these Presents Doth give grant bargain Sell and Confirm unto the aforesaid John Watson his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns All that part of a Tract or parcel of Land called and known by the Name of Chevie Chase Situate lying and being in Frederick County in the Province aforesaid Begining for the said Part at the end of one hundred and forty one Perches in the Eleventh Line of the aforesaid Tract called Chevie Chase and runing thence West one Hundred and ninety three perches then North Twenty three degrees West Twenty five perches then East fifty Perches then South East Eighty two Perches then East Thirty one Perches then South East seven Perches to the end of the Eighth Line of Chevie Chase then East forty four Perches then South fifty four degrees East Twenty seven perches then South Twenty five degrees East one Hundred and Eighteen Perches to the end of Ninety Nine Perches in the Eleventh Line of Chevie Chase then with a Streight Line to the Beginning Containing and now Laid out for Two hundred and thirty one Acres of Land more or Less with all the Premises and Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise Appertaining To Have and to Hold the aforesaid Two hundred and thirty one Acres of Land with all the Advantages Rights Profits and improvement thereunto belonging with all and singular its Appurtenances unto him the said John Watson his Heirs and Assigns forever free and Clear of all Incumbrances whatever (the Rents due to the Lord Proprietary only Excepted) under him the said Belt or any other Person whatever and he the said Belt for himself and his Heirs Covenants and Agrees to and with the said John Watson his Heirs and Assigns that he the said Belt his Heirs and Assigns shall and will at any Time hereafter make do and Execute or Acknowledge any other Act or Acts thing or things in the Law for the better and more fully securing the afsaid Two hundred and thirty one Acres of Land unto the said John Watson his Heirs or Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of this Deed In Witness whereof the said Thomas Belt the third hath (hereunto) |
