687 twenty Perches East Sixty perches and then by a Direct Line to the Begining Containing Seventy Acres of Land Together with all Rights Proffits Bennefitts Priviledges and Advantages Premises and Appurtenances to the said bargained Parcel of Land belonging or in any wise appertaining To Have and to Hold the s.d Bargained Parcel of Land with the premises and Appurtenances unto him the s.d John Grous his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to his and their only proper use and behoofe and the said Samuel Owings Jun.r for himself and his Heirs doth hereby covenant and grant Promise and agree to and with the s.d John Grous his Heirs and Assigns that he the said Samuel Owings Jun.r his Heirs shall and will Warrant and Defend the said Bargaind Parcel of Land with the Premises and Appurtenances unto him the said John Grous his Heirs and Assigns for ever against all and all Manner of Person or Persons Lawfully Claiming or hereafter Lawfully to Claim from by or under him the said Samuel Owings Jun.r or his Heirs or by their Means or Procurement In Witness whereof the said Samuel Owings Jun.r hath hereunto set his hand and Affixed his Seal the Day and Year above Written Signed Sealed and Delivered Geo Risteau In Presence of us Frances Risteau Sam.l Owings Jun.r (Seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Rec.d the 5.th April 1770 of the within Named John Grous fifty two Pounds ten Shillings being the Consideration Money mentioned in the within Deed As Witness my hand Test Geo Risteau Sam.l Owings Jun.r On the 5.th day of April 1770 Came the within named Samuel Owings Jun.r before us the Subscribers and Acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and the Parcels of Land thereby Bargained and Sold to be the Right and Title of the within named John Grous his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent & meaning of s.d Deed And at the same time Came Deborah Owings wife of the said Samuel Owings Jun.r who being privately Examined out of the Hearing of her said Husband and Declar'd she acknowledg'd her Right of Dower of the within Land and Premises to be the Right and Estate of the within named John Grous his Heirs and Assigns for ever without any Threats or fear of the Displeasure of her said Husband As Witness our Hands Sam.l Worthington John Moale Maryland Baltimore County sc.t I hereby Certify that Samuel Worthington and John Moale both of the County afsd Gentlemen before whom the foregoing Acknowledgment was made and taken were at the making and taking the same and still are two of the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary that now is his Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid and that to all such Acknowledgments by them so taken and Subscribed due L S Faith and Credit is and ought to be given as well in Justice Court as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and affixed the Seal of the County afsd this Nineth day of April Anno Domini Seventeen hundred & Seventy A Lawson Cl of Balt County Court |
