645. and true Account of all Bills of Credit which shall be Issued and paid out of the said Office and of the Names of those to whom the same shall be paid & Delivered and all other necessary Accounts relating to the said Bills of Credit and true Entries make of all other Proceedings and Transactions of the said Commissioners without any fraudulent Practice whatsoever then the above Obligation to be void and of none Effect otherwise to be and remain in full force & Virtue in Law Sealed and delivered in the Presence of James Brooks (Seal) Geo Steuart T Ridout (seal) Lloyd Dulany U Scott (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Bond was thus Endorsed Maryland fs.t 26.th December 1769 In Pursuance of an Act of Assembly Entitled " An Act for Emitting Bills of Credit and other purposes therein mentioned You are hereby directed and required to receive and immediately Record amongst the Land Records of your Office the within Bond and Order and after the same is ^so^ Recorded you are to Deliver the Original to the Register in Chancery to be by him safely kept in the Chancery Office Geo Steuart To The Clerk of the Provincial Court Recorded 26.th December 1769 Fees charged thus far for the year 1769 X.d I William Harwood as Clerk in the Provincial Office do swear that I will not for Lucre or Malice delay any Person or Persons applying to me for any Business belonging to the Office I Officiate in and that I will not Directly or indirectly Ask Demand take or receive from or Charge to any such Person or Persons to my own use (Except my Salary from my Principal) any fee or reward whatsoever for any Service I shall do as Clerk of the said office And also that in making out the Office Fees I will not Wittingly or Willingly charge other or Higher Fees than Limited by the Act Entituled " An Act for Amending the Staple of Tobacco for Preventing Frauds in his Majesty's Customs and for the Limitation of Officers Fees " W.m Steuart Recoded 15.th January 1770 X.d This Indenture made the Twenty fourth day of January in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and Seventy Between Nicholas Maccubbin and James Dick of Ann Arundel County Merchants of the one part and Anthony Steuart of said County Merchant of the other part Whereas by a certain Indenture bearing date on or about the fourteenth day of June one Thousand seven Hundred and sixty nine made or mentioned to be made between John Wilmot of Ann Arundel County aforesaid Planter of the one part and the above Nicholas Maccubbin and James Dick of the other part reciting that the said John (Wilmot) |
