X.d Maryland fs.t Know all Men by these Presents that We Robert Couden Thomas Johnson jun.r and Richard Toolett all of the City of Annapolis Gentlemen are held and firmly bound unto the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary his Heirs and Successors in the full and just Sum of Six Thousand Pounds Sterling to be paid unto the said Lord Proprietary his Heirs and Successors To the which Payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves Heirs Executors and Administrators jointly and Severally firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated this Twenty third day of December Anno Domini one Thousand seven hundred and sixty Nine The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bound Robert Couden whilst he shall Continue in the Office of Commissioner for emitting Bills of Credit shall well and faithfully observe and Execute the Trust reposed in him by the Act of Assembly of this Province Entitled an Act for emitting Bills of Credit and other purposes therein mentioned according to the true Intent & meaning thereof Then the above Obligation to be void and of none Effect otherwise to remain in full force and Virtue Sign'd Sealed and Delivered in the Presence of Rob.t Couden (seal) Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer Th.s Johnson jun.r (seal) Fred Stone Rich.d Tootell (seal) Recorded 25.th December 1769 X.d Maryland to wit Know all Men by these Presents that we James Brooks of the City of Annapolis and province aforesaid and John Ridout and Upton Scott of the said City Esquires are held and firmly bound unto his Lordship the Right Honourable Frederick Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore &.c his Heirs and Successors in the full and just Sum of One Thousand Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to be paid unto his said Lordship his Heirs and Successors To the which Payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves our Heirs Executors and Administrators jointly and Severally firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated this 26.th day of December Anno Domini 1769. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that Whereas the above bound James Brooks by a Commission bearing Even date with these Presents Nominated and Appointed Clerk to the Commissioners for Emitting Bills of Credit Established by an Act of Assembly Entitled " An Act for Emitting Bills of Credit and other purposes therein mentioned Now if the said James Brooks shall whilst he Continued in the said Office of Clerk to the Commissioners aforesaid Truly and faithfully perform and Execute the Office and Duty that is Directed and required of him as Clerk aforesaid and keep a just (and) |
