(624) 1769 November 15.th Received of M.r John Aldridge Nine Shillings Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the Alienation fine on the within land and by Virtue of a Commission from Daniel of Saint Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent & receiver General 6 Sides Recorded 16.th November 1769 J Brice X.d I John Daniel Jaquet as Clerk in the Prerogative Office do swear that I will not for Lucre or Malice delay any Person or Persons applying to me for any Business belonging to the Office I Officiate in and that I will not directly or indirectly ask demand take or receive from or charge to any such Person or Persons to my own use (except my salary from my Principal any Fee or reward whatsoever for any service I shall do as Clerk of the said Office And also that in making out the Office fees I will not wittingly or willingly charge other ^or^ higher Fees than limitted by the Act entituled "an Act for amending the Staple of Tobacco for Preventing fraud in his Majestys Customs and for the Limitation of Officers fees Recorded 18.th November 1769 R Ghiselin X.d Maryland fs.t This Indenture made this twenty fourth Day of November ADomina One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty nine Between Samuel Mansell of Frederick County and Province of Maryland Merchant of the one part & Benjamin Gassaway of Ann Arundel County and Province aforesaid Planter of the other Part Witnesseth that whereas the said Samuel Mansell did by his Indenture bearing Date the third Day of June ADomina One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Eight for the Consideration hereafter Expressed make over and Convey unto him the said Benjamin Gassaway his heirs and Assigns forever all him the said Samuel Mansell Right title Claim ^and^ interest of a certain tract or parcel of Land being in the said Deed Erroniously Call'd Look Sharpe but properly call'd Windsor Forrest Referrence being had to the said Deed will more fully and Largely Appear Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Samuel Mansell in Order to Confirm the right of the said Land that was in the aforesaid Deed bargained and Sold or therein intended to be bargained and sold for the sum of Forty two pounds and Ten Pence being the Consideration being expressed in the above recited Deed which said Sum the said Samuel Mansell doth hereby Acknowledge the receipt Hath given granted bargained sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed & by these Presents doth fully Clearly & Absolutely give grant Bargain sell alien enfeoff and Confirm unto him the said Benjamin Gassaway his heirs and Assigns forever Part of a tract or parcel of Land called Windsor Forrest as hereafter Described lying and being in Ann Arundel County on the Drafts of Plummers Branch Beginning for the same at a Bounded White Oak and Maple being the beginning Trees of the whole Resurvey Called Winsor Forrest & runing thence North Eighty two degrees East (one) |
