(598) Gaunt his heirs and Assigns to the Only Proper use & behoofe of the said Thomas Gaunt his heirs & Assigns forever In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed my seal this twenty first Day of May Seventeen hundred and Sixty nine Signed Sealed and Delivered Lance.t Jacques (Seal) in the presence of us J Beale Bordley J Rogers On the Back of the aforegoing Release was thus written Received on the Day & year above written of Thomas Gaunt the above mentioned sums of two hundred and thirty five Pounds & nine pence Current Money Seven hundred and Eighty pounds eight Shillings Sterling Money & Sixteen hundred & Seventy three pounds of Tobacco being the Consideration above mentioned to be paid by him to me Lanc.t Jacques Witness J Rogers On the 22.d Day of May 1769 Came the abovementioned Lancelot Jacques before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and Acknowledged the above Instrument of writing to be his Act & Deed & the Land & Premises therein mentioned to be the right & estate of the above named Thomas Gaunt his heirs & Assigns according to the true intent and meaning of the same writing At the same time also came before me Katharine Jacques the wife of the said Lancelot Jacques & acknowledged & relinquished all her right & title of Dower of in and to the said Land & Premises with the Appurtenances and being by me first examined privately a part from & out of the Hearing of her said Husband declared she made such her acknowledgment & relinquishment willingly & freely and without being induced thereto by fears or threats of or ill usage by her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure according to the Act of Assembly in such Case made & Provided 5 sides J B Bordley Recorded the 15.th Day of September 1769 Ex.d This Indenture made this first Day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand 6¾ Seven hundred Sixty & nine Between William Howard of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland of the one part & Francis Spink of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Howard for and in Consideration of the sum of Ten Pounds Sterling to him in hand paid by the ^afore^said Francis Spink before the ensealing & Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof the said William Howard doth hereby Acknowledge himself therewith ^to be^ fully Contented Satisfied & paid and thereof and of every Part and parcell thereof doth acquit Exonerate & discharge him the said Francis Spink his heirs executors Administrators & Assigns forever hath Granted Bargained and Sold & by these Presents doth Grant Bargain & Sell unto the said Francis Spink his (heirs) |
