(593) Be it Remembered that on the 21.st Day of July in the year Seventeen hundred and sixty nine the within named Thomas Ringgold Personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships ^Justices^ of the provincial Court of the Province of Maryland and by virtue of the within Power of Attorney for and in the name of the within Robert Payne and Did Acknowledge the within Deed to be the Deed of the within Robert Payne and the Lands and Premises therein Contained to be the only right Property and Estate of the within named William Woodward and his heirs and Assigns according to the Form Force and Effect true intent and meaning of the same Deed In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand the day and year above B Hands 1769 August 24.th Rec.d of M.r William Woodward Three Shillings and Six Pence Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the alienation fine on the within Land & by Virtue of a Commission from Daniel of S.t Tho.s Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and receiver General J Brice Clk Recorded the 24.th Day of August 1769 Ex.d This Indenture made this twenty eight Day of August in the year of our Lord One 18 sides Thousand Seven hundred and sixty nine Between John Hammond Dorsey of Baltimore County Merchant of the one Part and John Buchanan of the City of London Merchant of the other part Whereas by a certain writing Indented made or mentioned to be made on the Tenth Day of August in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and sixty Eight by and Between the aforesaid John Hammond Dorsey and the same John Buchanan reciting that a certain Robert Adair and the aforesaid John Hammond Dorsey by their certain writing writing Obligatory on or about the Seventh Day of August seventeen hundred and Sixty Six acknowledged themselves to be held and firmly bound unto the said John Buchanan in the sum of four thousand eight hundred and sixty seven Pounds thirteen Shillings and four Pence Sterling with Condition thereto that if the said Robert Adair and John Hammond Dorsey did & should well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said John Buchanan his certain Attorney Executors Administrators or Assigns the Just and full Sum of Two Thousand four hundred and thirty three Pounds thirteen Shillings and eight Sterling at or upon the first Day of February then next ensuing the Date thereof with legal Interest for the same then the said Obligation should be void else to remain in full force and Virtue in Law And that on the Seventh Day of the same August Seventeen hundred and fifty eight there did remain due and unpaid upon the said Bond the Sum of Two Thousand and Seventeen pounds five Shillings and Eleven pence Sterling aforesaid (discounting) |
