(528) Act and Deed and the Land & Premises therein Mentioned to be the Right & Estate of the within Named John Worthington Warfield his Heirs and Assigns forever According to the true Intent and Meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided Taken & Acknowledge before Tho.s Prather Evan Shelby Maryland Frederick County Sc.t I do hereby Certifie that Thomas Prather L S and Evan Shelby Gent.n who Signed the above Acknowledgement were at the time of their Signing the same and Still are two of his Lordship the Lord Proprietary his Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid by his said Lordship's Commission Lawfully Authorized and Assigned &c to whom due faith and Credit is and Ought to be given as well in Justice Court as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Affixed the Publick Seal of the aforesaid County Court this Eleventh day of March 1769 Test Thomas Sprigg Clk Recorded the 16.th day of March 1769 Fred.k County Court Ex.d To all to whom these Presents shall or may Concern Greeting whereas I Francis Brerewood of the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields in the County of Middlesex Esquire by Virtue of a certain Instrument in Writing or Letter of Attorney under my Hand and Seal bearing Date on or about the Sixth day of July in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty five Did Constitute and Appoint John Hunt of Leadenhall Street London Merchant but then and Now residing in America my true and lawfull Attorney and did thereby Authorize and Empower him to Commence Prosecute and Carry on for me Such Suit or Suits at Law by Ejectment within the Province of Maryland as he should be advised in Order to Recover the Possession of Certain Lands called the Lord Baltimore's Gift in the Province of Maryland in Baltimore County in America now in the Possession of Frederick the Present Lord Baltimore or his Under Tenants and to Receive and take the Rents and Profits thereof for my Use and Benefit and to do all Such Other Acts Matters and things as therein are Mentioned in as full and Ample Manner to all Intents and Purposes as I might or could do if Personally Present as by the said Letter of Attorney Relation being thereunto had may more fully appear And Whereas I have Received Information that the said John Hunt hath declined or Neglected to pursue the Powers and Authorities to him given in and by the said Letter of Attorney and (hath) |
