       On the Back of the Aforegoing Deed was thus Written Viz.t

       Maryland fs.t October the 31.st 1765 Came Charles Carroll Esquire
       and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his
       Act and Deed according to the act of assembly in that case made
       and provided

Examined
       This Indenture made this thirty first day of October in the year
       of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and sixty five Between
       Cornelius Garretson of Ann Arundel County Breeches maker of the one
       part and Charles Wallace of the City of Annapolis of the other part
       Whereas the said Cornelius Garretson is now justly and truly indebted
       to the said Charles Wallace in the sum of Seven pounds Eleven
       Shillings & nine pence Curr.y & Eleven pounds & four pence S.tg on an
       account his day Stated and settled between them and over and
       besides that Debt the said Charles Wallace heretofore on or about
       the twenty ninth day of May 1760 at the Request and for the proper
       debt of the said Cornelius Garretson became bound with him and
       as his Security in one Bond in a certain penalty to Stephen Bordley
       Esq.r deceased for the payment of Two hundred pounds Sterling principal
       money with interest thereon and he the said Charles Wallace also
       on or about the 15.th day of August 1763 at the like Request and for
       the proper debt of the said Cornelius Garretson became bound
       with him & as his Security in one other Bond in a certain penalty
       to David Ross of Prince Georges County for the payment of
       Two hundred and fifty Eight pounds Eighteen Shillings Currency
       as rated in the then Inspection Law at or upon the fifteenth
       day of August then next ensuing the Date of the same Bond
       with Legal Interest for the same, and whereas on or about
       the sixteenth day of March one Thousand Seven hundred and
