(498) first above Written Signed Sealed and Delivered William Brown (Seal) in the Presence of us Jon.a Sellman (Seal) the words (From or Under him he being first Interlined Ja Tilghman 3.d Geo Steuart On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Indorsed to wit Received on the day and Year first within Written of and from the within Named Jonathan Selman the Sum of Eighty Six Pounds Eight Shillings and One Penny Currant Money being the Consideration within Mentioned to be by him Paid to me I say Received by Me Witness William Brown Robert Pain Davis Ann Arundel County to wit On the 3.d Day of February Seventeen hundred and Sixty Nine the within Mentioned William Brown Personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Provincial Court and did Acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the Land herein Granted Bargained and Sold or Meant Mentioned or Intended so to be and Premisses with the Appurtenances and Every Part and Parcel thereof to be the Right Property and Estate of the within Named Jonathan Selman his Heirs and Assigns forever According to the true Intent and Meaning of the same Writing and of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided Geo Steuart Rece.d of M.r Jonathan Sellman the Sum of ten Shillings Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the Alienation fine on the within land and by Virtue of a Commission from Daniel of S.t Thomas Jenifer Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Jn.o Brice 11 sides Recorded the 4.th day of February 1769 Ex.d This Indenture made this fifteenth Day of December in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Sixty eight Between William Brown of Ann Arundel County and Joseph Gill of Dorchester County of the One Part and Joseph Cowman of Ann Arundel County of the other part Whereas the said Joseph Gill on or about the thirtieth Day of April in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Sixty four by Deed of Bargain and Sale Indented duly Acknowledged and recorded in the Provincial Court Land Records for the Consideration of four hundred and twenty one Pounds and Six Pence Sterling did give Grant Bargain Sell Alien release Enfeoff and Confirm unto him the said William Brown and his Heirs forever all that Tract of Land called Denton Holme Lying Lately (in) |
