(472) Ann Arundel County to wit 23.rd Oct.r 1768 Then came before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Honourable the Provincial Court Charles Hammond son of John Party to the within Deed and did Acknowledge the same to be his Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the said Samuel Chase his Heirs and Assigns according to the true Intent and meaning of the same Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided Taken before Geo Steuart Received the sum of Eleven shillings and three pence Sterling for an Alienation Fine November 22.d 1768 Bennet Allen Recorded the 21.st Day of November 1768 Examd This Indenture made this twenty third Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight Between Susanna Heath of Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland widdow of the one part and William Hall of Swan Town of the same County and Province of the other part Whereas Doctor Josias Middlemore late of Baltimore County deceased did by his last Will and Testament remaining on Record in the Perogative Court of this Province amongst other Things did Devise and Bequeath unto his loving Wife Frances Middlemore who Survived him the Residue and Remainder of his Real and Personal Estate And Whereas the said Frances Middlemore since deceased did by her last Will and Testament duly proved and Remaining of Record in the Perogative Court of this Province amongst other things give and devise unto Susanna Hall Daughter of John Hall since Intermarried with James Heath and now party to these presents a certain Tract or parcel of Land containing one hundred Acres and known by the Name of Ives Town lying and being in the County aforesaid Beginning at a bounded Tree standing in Cathole Creek at the Head of it and runing the Courses and distances of the said Land to Conclude the Quantity aforesaid which said Tract of Land called Ives Town the said Frances Middlemore devised unto the said Susanna Hall (now Heath) her Heirs and Assigns for ever Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Susanna Heath for and in consideration of the sum of fifty two Pounds Current Money to her in Hand paid by the said William Hall at and before the ensealing and Delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof she the said Susanna Heath doth hereby Acknowledge and therefrom and from every part and Parcel thereof doth Acquit exonerate and Discharge the (said) |
