       have hereunto set their Hands and seals the Day and Year above written

       On the Back of which Deed was thus Endorsed to wit/
                                                                                           Received the Day and
       Year first within mentioned of and from the within Named James Russell
       Walter Ewer and John Ewer and John Buchanan the sum of five thousand
       pounds Sterling being the Consideration mentioned to be paid me
       Test Benjamin Rogers                                    Alexand.r Lawson

       Be it remembered that on the 5.th Day of November 1768 Alexander Lawson
       party to the within Indenture acknowledged the same as his Act and Deed
       and the Lands and Chattles therein mentioned to be the right title and Estate
       of the said James Russell Walter Ewer John Ewer and John Buchanan
       also parties thereto their Heirs and Assigns And at the same Time came
       Elizabeth the Wife of the said Alexander Lawson and being privately examined
       apart from and out of the hearing of her said Husband did also acknowledge
       the said Lands to be the Right Title and Estate of the said James Russell
       Walter Ewer John Ewer and John Buchanan their Heirs and Assigns free
       and clear from all Right and Claim of Dower of her the said Elizabeth and
       did declare she did by the same Acknowledgment release all her Right
       and Title of Dower of and in the said Lands and that she made release of her
       own free will and Accord without any Threats or Compulsion of her said Husband
       or for fear of his Displeasure.  Taken and Acknowledged before

       Maryland Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify That Mess.rs
       Benjamin Rogers and William Otty Gentleman who signed the above
       Acknowledgment was at the Time of Signing the same and still are two
       of his Lordships the Lord proprietarys Justices of the peace for the County
       aforesaid lawfully Authorized and signed to whom due Faith is and ought
       to be given as well in Justice Court as thereout

       In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed the
