(458) Set their Hands and Seals the Day and year above Written Signed Seal'd and deliver'd Mary Lee (Seal) in the Presence of Daniel Magee (Seal) Geo Chalmers Sarah Magee (Seal) Sam.l Lee (Seal) W.m Paca (Seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Indorsed to wit Received the Day and year within Written of the within Named William Paca the Sum of five shillings Sterling Money in full for the Consideration Money therein Mentioned to be by him Paid to Us Witness Sam.l Lee Geo Chalmers On the 22.d Day of October One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Eight Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordship's Justices of the Provincial Court the within Named William Paca and Samuel Lee and Mary his Wife and Severally Acknowledg'd the within Deed to be their respective Act and Deed and that the within Mentioned Premisses were the right and Estate of the within Mentioned Daniel McGee and Sarah his Wife their heirs and Assigns forever to and for the Uses Intents and Purposes of the within Deed and according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof and the said Mary being by me Examin'd apart from and out of the hearing of her said Husband Samuel Lee did repeat as aforesaid and did further declare that She had by the within Writing released and did hereby release all her Right and Title to the within Premisses and that She Executed the said writing of her Own free Will and Consent without any Compultion or threats from her said Husband or for Fear of his Displeasure Recorded the 22.d October 1768 Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer 10½ sides Examd This Indenture Made the first day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty Eight Between John Beale Howard of Baltimore County Merchant of the one Part and William Paca of Ann Arundel County Attorney of the Other Part Witnesseth that the said John for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings Sterling Money by the said William Paca to him in Hand Paid at or before the Ensealing or Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth hereby release Acquit and discharge the said William Paca his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns hath Bargained and Sold and by these Presents doth Bargain and Sell unto the said William Paca his Executors Administrators and Assigns all that Eastermost Moiety or half Part of a Tract of Land called Jerico divided from the West Part of the said Land by a Line drawn North and South thro the Middle of the said Tract Containing Five Hundred Acres of Land More or Less together with all Messuages Edifices Buildings Gardens Orchyards Ways Waters Water Courses Commodities Priviliges Improvements Emoluments Advantages and Appurtenances whatsoever to the (said) |
