(448) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Indorsed to wit Received this Seventh Day of September 1767 From the within Named Thomas £ s Linthecum the Sum of Six Hundred Pounds Current Money being the Consideration within 600 0 0 Mentioned Witness Jn.o Leeds Rec.d P Rob.t Bromwell Maryland fs.t Be it Remembered that upon the Seventh day of September in the year Seventeen hundred and Sixty Eight Personally appeared before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Provincial Court Robert Bromwell within Mentioned and Mary his Wife and Each of them did Acknowledge the within Deed unto the within Named Thomas Linthecum and his heirs & Assigns for ever and that the within Deed is the Act and Deed of him the same Robert She the s.d Mary being by me first Examined out of the hearing of her s.d Husband who Answered that She should make her s.d Acknowledgment of the same Deed Willingly & freely and without being induced thereto by threats or fears of his Displeasure In Testimony whereof I have hereunto Set my hand the Day and year above Written Jn.o Leeds I have Received the Sum of Eight Shillings & three Pence half Penny Ster.g it being the Alienation fine on the within Land October 11.th 1768 Bennet Allen Recorded the 11.th Day of October 1768 Exam.d This Indenture Made this Thirtieth day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Eight Between John Murray of Dorchester County Attorney of the one Part and James Woolford Stewart of same County Blacksmith of the other Part Whereas for the docking barring and Extinguishing all Estates Tail and Reversions or Remainders thereupon Expectant or Depending of and in those Messuages Tenements and Lotts of Ground and Appurtenances herein after Mentioned the said John as Demandant did heretofore at the request of the aforesaid James Prosecute and Sue forth out of his Lordships High Court of Chancery his said Lordships Writ of Entry Sur Disseisin en le post Against the said James returnable and returned to the Provincial Court at Annapolis on the Third Tuesday in May Last Past whereby the same John did Demand against the said James all those Messuages Tenements and Lotts of Ground Numbered Eighteen and Nineteen Situate Lying and being in the Town of Cambridge in the County of Dorchester with the Appurtenances to which said Writ the said James did appear in his Proper Person and Vouched to Warranty thereof the Common Vouchee of the same Court and such further and other Proceedings were thereupon had that the said John by Judgment of the same Court did recover his Seisin against the said James Party hereto of and in the Demanded Premisses and the said James did recover over by virtue against the Common Vouchee whereby a common Recovery of the aforesaid Premisses hath been had and Suffered Now this Indenture Witnesseth that (for) |
