(427) And at the same time came Ann Meek wife of the said Moses Meeke who being privatly examined out of the hearing of her husband did Acknowledge that she freely and voluntary did Relinquish her Right of Dower in the said Land without being compelled thereto by threats of her said husband or for fear of incuring his displeasure Recorded 11.th August 1768 Geo Steuart Mem.d Alienation receipt Recorded in page 492 3 sides Ex.d This Indenture made this twenty Seve^n^th day of April in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and Sixty Eight Between Thomas Gordon of Prince George's County in the province of Maryland Planter of the one part and Richard Henderson of the same County & Province Merchant of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Gordon for and in Consideration of the Sum of One hundred and Seventy five pounds thirteen Shillings current money to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath Given Granted Barg^a^ined Sold aliened Released Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents he the said Thomas Gordon for himself and his heirs doth Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release Enfeoffe and Confirm unto the said Richard Henderson his heirs & Assigns all the following tracts or parcels of Land in the County aforesaid near the Beaver Dam Branch and near the main Road from Bladensburgh to Upper Marlbro' To wit all that tract or parcel of Land called Gordon's Pasture containing two hundred twenty and one half Acres more or Less also all that tract or parcell of Land being part of a tract of Land called Beall's Pleasure which part was conveyed to the said Thomas Gordon by Charles Bowman and Elizabeth Bowman on or about the 25.th day of August 1742 and containing Sixty one Acres more or Less also all that tract or parcell of Land called Basil Warrings Lott enlarged which was conveyed to the said Thomas Gordon by Basil Waring Junior on or about the 29.th day of October 1765 containing thirty Appurtenances to the Lands aforesaid belonging or deemed to belong or in any wise Appertaining or deemed to Appertain and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof and all the Estate Right Title & Interest use Trust Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Thomas Gordon and his heirs of in and to the same To have and to hold the Lands aforesaid with the Premisses unto the said Richard Henderson his heirs and Assigns To the only proper use and Behooff of the said Richard Henderson his heirs and Assigns and to or for no other use Intent or Purpose whatsoever And the said Thomas Gordon for himself and his heirs doth Covenant and Agree to and with the said Richard Henderson his heirs and Assigns that he the said Richard Henderson his heirs and Assigns shall and may at all times hereafter Quietly and Peaceably Hold Occupy and Possess all the Lands aforesaid with the Premisses |
