(423) Maryland fs.t Came before us the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Provincial Court Thomas Denton one of the witnesses to the within power of Attorney and made oath on the holy Evangelists of Almighty God That he saw the within named Joseph Alcock sign seal and deliver the within power of Attorney as his Act and Deed for the purposes within mentioned and that he also saw the within Mentioned William Pattison and Isaac Todd the other subscribing witnesses Sign the within power of Attorney as witnesses thereto Recorded the 23.d day of July 1768 Sworn to before me this 23.d Day of July 1768 6 sides Geo Steuart Ex.d This Indenture made this twenty Seventh Day of April Seventeen hundred and sixty five Between Evan Shelby of Frederick County Gentleman of the one part and Lancelot Jacques and Thomas Johnson junior of the City of Annapolis of the other part Witness that the said Evan Shelby in Compliance with a former Agreement made between him and the said Lancelot Jacques and Thomas Johnson jun.r and also for and in Consideration of ten Shillings Sterling to him in hand paid by the said Lancellot Jacques and Thomas Johnson Junior the Receit whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth Acquit and discharge the said Lancellot Jacques and Thomas Johnson jun.r their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns and every of them by these presents Hath given granted bargained sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed And by these Presents Doth give grant bargain Sell alien release enfeoff and confirm unto them the said Lancellot Jacques and Thomas Johnson Jun.r All that part of a Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in Frederick County aforesaid called the Resurvey on the mountain of Wales granted and confirmed to him the said Evan Shelby containing in the whole nine thousand eight hundred and Sixty Acres of Land which is contained within the following Lines to wit Beginning at the end of fifty two Perches on the two hundred and forty fifth Line of the said whole Tract and running with that and the other Outlines thereof to the end of the two hundred and forty ninth Line of the said whole Tract then with the Line of the Land conveyed by the said Evan Shelby to Samuel Chase untill it intersects the two hundred and fifty Sixth Line of the said whole Tract then with that and the other outlines thereof to the end of the two hundred and Sixty first Line of the said whole Tract then with the Lines of that part of the said Tract conveyed by the said Evan Shelby to Peter Pinkley unto the end of one hundred and nine perches on the back Line being the longest Line of the same part then by a Line drawn to the end of eighty perches on the two hundred and eightieth Line of the said whole Tract and from thence by a Streight Line to the Beginning of the said part hereby intended to be conveyed containing five hundred and Ninety four Acres more or less Together with all Houses |
