(389) Ex.d Sir Since I saw you I have Considered the Trouble I am in with any Distressed Children that I am in so much Trouble and so unwell that I am almost Distracted as I Shant go Down to Annapolis till to Morrow in the Evening if it will Suit you to come down to my house to morrow morning I will Lett you se a List of what things I have got for the forge which you may have if you please with the Land & building place as I am Shore that I Cant Run the Resque of a partnership in so Great an Affair without pigg Iron to Carry it on you have now an Opportunity of Serveing your Self if you think proper if not I have an Officer for the land please to send me your Answer by the barrer which will oblige S.r your Most Humble Serv.t Aug.t id 27.th 1761 Edw.d Norwood To M.r Caleb Dorsey at his Furnace these P favour of M.r Owings Duty paid Ann Arundel County fs Know all men by these presents John Brice Clk that I Edward Norwood of Baltimore County Iron master am held and firmly bound unto Caleb Dorsey Iron Master in the full and just Sum of One Thousand Pounds Sterling Money to be paid to the said Caleb Dorsey or his certain Attorney Executors Administrators or Assigns: To which Payment to be well and truly made & done I bind myself my Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these Presents sealed with my seal Dated the twenty eighth Day of August in the Year of our Lord 1761 The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bound Edward Norwood his heirs Executors or Administrators do and shall at or upon the Request of the above named Caleb Dorsey his heirs and Assigns convey and assure or cause to be well & Sufficiently conveyed and Assured One hundred Acres of Land (That is all his right Title Claim or Interest therein) condemned by writ of Ad quod Damnum and laid out upon the main Falls of Patapsco River Then this Obligation shall be Void or else remain in full force and Virtue Sealed and Delivered J Clare Edw.d Norwood (seal) being first legally Stamp'd S Dorsey in the presence of On the Back of the Aforegoing Bond was thus Endorsed viz.t Memorandum That all that Part of Land within mentioned that is Condemned by writ of Ad Quod Damnum and is not included the Parcel of Land called Long Acre; That Edward Norwood Shall pay no Damages in any Case thereof Witness Julius Clare Caleb Dorsey S.r if you want the Land I condemned for the forge conveyed When I am at Annapolis please to Send my bond Down as I may have it up on makeing a Conveyance Sunday Morning ye 26 1762 I am S.r Y.r Hble Serv.t To M.r Caleb Dorsey Edw.d Norwood ¾ sides Recorded 10.th May 1768 |
