(340) Mary the wife of the said Charles Carroll Junior and acknowledged and relinquished all her right and Title of Dower of in and to the said undivided moiety or half part of the said Tract or parcel of Land to him the said Walter Dulany his Heirs and Assigns and she being by me examined privately apart from and out of the hearing of her said Husband declared she made such acknowledgment and relinquishment willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by fears or threats of or ill usage by her said Husband or fear of his displeasure according to the Act of Assembly in such cases made and provided Taken before & Certified by J Hepburn Nov.r 3.d 1767 Reced of Walter Dulany Esquire the sum of two Pounds ten shillings sterling Money for the use of Lord Baltimore it being the Alienation fine for the within Land by virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Brice Recorded the 3.d Day of November 1767 8¾ sides Ex.d This Indenture made the thirtyeth Day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty seven between Luke Davis of Anna Arundel County in the Province of Maryland planter of the one part and Greenbury Bishop of the same County and Province aforesaid planter of the other part witnesseth that the said Luke Davis for and in the Consideration of the sum of nine Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid before the Ensealing and Delivering of these presents the Receipt whereof the said Luke Davis doth hereby acknowledge and discharges the said Greenbury Bishop him his Heirs Executors Administrators and every of them by these presents for ever Hath Given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully clearly and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Greenbury Bishop his Heirs and Assigns for Ever all that parcel of Land being part of a Tract Called Davis's Farm lying in Baltimore County on the Draghtts of Morgans Run bounded by the Lines and Descriptions following viz.t Beginning for the said parcel of Land at the end of twenty Perches on the twenty second line or Course of the (said) |
