       On the 31.st October 1767  Came Samuel Chase before me the Subscriber
       one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court and made Oath on
       the holy Evangels of Almighty God  That he on the ninth Day of September
       1767 Subscribed his Name as Witness to the above Receipt and that at
       the same Time the above Named Sarah Chapman & William Turnor Wootton
       signed their Names in his presence

          This Indenture made this nineteenth Day of October in the Year
       seventeen hundred and sixty seven Between Charles Carroll Junior Esquire
       of Duddington Manor in Prince Georges County and Province of Maryland
       of the one part and The Honorable Walter Dulany Esquire of the City of
       Annapolis of the other part  Witnesseth that the said Charles Carroll
       Junior for and in consideration of the sum of twelve hundred and fifty Pounds
       Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said Walter
       Dulany at and before the ensealing and delivery hereof the receipt whereof the
       said Charles Carroll Junior doth hereby acknowledge and therefrom acquit and
       discharge the said Walter Dulany his Heirs Executors and Administrators
       and every of them by these presents  Hath given granted bargained sold aliened
       released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents Doth give grant bargain
       sell alien release enfeoffe and Confirm to him the said Walter Dulany
       his Heirs and Assigns All that undivided moiety or half part of a Tract or
       parcel of Land called  The Valley of Jehosaphat lying and being in the
       fork of Gun Powder in Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland and
       containing Two Thousand five hundred acres more or less together with
       all and singular the Houses Outhouses Edifices Buildings Gardens Ways
       waters Water Courses Commodities priviledges Advantages and Appurtenances
       to the same undivided moiety or half part of the Tract or parcel of Land
       aforesaid belonging or appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions
       Remainder and Remainders Rents issues and profits thereof and of every
       part and parcel thereof and also the Estate Right Title Interest use Trust
       profit property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him the said Charles Carroll
       Junior of in to and out of the same undivided moiety or half part of the
