(251) Received the Day and Year first within mentioned from and of the said John Beale Bordley the sum of Five Shillings Sterling being the Consideration to be by him paid to us Witness Benjamin Rogers W Barney s.r her Frances F Holland Barney mark Be it Remembered that on the Second Day of July 1767 before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the peace for Baltimore County Came John Ensor Junior William Barney and Frances otherwise called Frances Holland his wife and the said John Ensor and William Barney did Acknowledge the within Instrument of writing as their Act and Deed and the within bargained and released premisses to be the Right and Estate of the within named John Beale Bordley according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof And the afs.d Frances Holland being also by us examined apart from and out of the Hearing of her said Husband did Acknowledge and declare the within Instrument to be her Act and Deed and the within bargained and released premisses to be the Right and Estate of the within named John Beale Bordley according to the True Intent and meaning of the within Deed And that She did sign seal and deliver the Same and made this Acknowledgement freely and voluntarily without any Threats or Compulsion of or from her said Husband of for fear of his Displeasure And at the Same Time Came Eleanor the wife of the said John Ensor and being privately examined apart from and out of the hearing of her said Husband did acknowledge the within premisses to be the Right and Estate of the said John Beale Bordley free and clear from any Right or Title of Dower of her the said Eleanor and did declare she did by this Acknowledgement release all her Right Title and Claim of Dower of and in the within Lands and premisses and that She made this Acknowledgement of her own free will and consent without any Compulsion of or threats from her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure Benjamin Rogers Will.m Aisquith 1767 July 7.th Received of John Beale Bordley the Sum of Eleven Shillings and Three pence Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the Alienation fine on the within two hundred and ninety Seven Acres of Land and by virtue of a commission from Edward Lloyd Esquire his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General 16½ sides John Brice Recorded the 8.th July 1767 |
