(239) I do hereby certify that on the 25.th Day of June in the year 1767 Came before us the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within Grantor Stephen West and Acknowledged the above Deed to be his Act and Deed according to the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided and I do ^also^ hereby further certify that afterwards on the same Day and Year Hannah the wife of the said Stephen West did appear before me in order by her Acknowledgement to be her Dower in the above granted Premisses and every part thereof whereupon I the Subscriber did examiner her Privately out of the Hearing of her said Husband whether she did make her Acknowledgement of the same willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by Fear or threats of or ill usage by her Husband or fear of his Displeasure upon which said private Examination She did declare that She made her Acknowledgement for the purpose aforesaid willingly and freely and without being induced thereto by fear or Threats of or ill usage by her Husband or fear of his Displeasure, taken before and certified by J Hepburn 12½ sides Recorded the 26.th June 1767 Ex.d This Indenture Made the Twenty Sixth Day of December in the Year of our Lord God One seven hundred and Sixty five Between Samuel Scott of Prince Georges County in the province of Maryland Carpenter of the one part and Thomas Beall of Prince Georges County in the province afforesaid Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said Samuel Scott for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred Pounds Current money to me in hand paid by the said Thomas Beall at or before ye ensealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receit whereof he the said Samuel Scott doth Hereby acknowledge and confess and himself to be fully Satisfy'd Contented and paid Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enfeoffed Released and Confirmed and by these Presents doth for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators fully Clearly and Absolutely give Grant Bargain Sell Aliene Enfeoffee Release and Confirm unto him the said Thomas Beall his heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns All these Several Tracts of Lands lying and being in Prince Georges County afforesaid (That is to Say) one Tract or parcell of Land Called Dam Begining at a Bounded white oak in a Line of Ninian Bealls Land it being a Bounded Tree of Francis Risley and Runing with the said Bealls Line North North East three hundred and Thirty Perches to a Bounded Hicory on the North Side of a Great hill near a Branch Called the Bever Damn Branch then East One hundred and Sixteen Perches to a Bounded |
