       & nine pence half penny Sterling as an alienation fine
       on the within mentioned one hundred & forty five acres & a
       half of Land by order of the Hon.ble Edw.d Lloyd Agent for the
       Right Honble the Lord Proprietary of Maryland

       Maryland, Prince Georges County fs.t  I hereby Certify to all
       whom it may or doth concern that Alexander Symmer and
       David Crauford Gentlemen before whom the above acknowledgement
       was taken were at the time thereof Two of his Lordships
       Justices of the peace for the county aforesaid Lawfully
       Authorised and Assigned to whom due faith is and ought
       to be given as well in Justice Court as thereout In Testimony
                            whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the
             seal         Publick Seal of the county aforesaid this Thirty first day
                            of October in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand
                            seven hundred and sixty five

Examined
              This Indenture made the Thirty first day of October in the
       Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and sixty five Between
       William Brown of London Town Joyner in Ann Arundel County
       in the Province of Maryland of the part and Samuel Chase Attorney
       at Law in the City of Annapolis of the other part Witnesseth that
       the said William Brown for and in consideration of the sum of Five
       pounds Seven shillings and four pence half penny Sterling by the
       said Samuel Chase to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof he doth
       hereby acknowledge Have by these presents Granted Bargain.d Sold
       Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents do grant Bargain
       Sell Enfeoffe and Confirm unto the said Samuel Chase his heirs
       assigns for ever part of a tract of Land called Browns discovery
       containing forty one and a half acres Begining at a Small Cedar
       Standing near the head of a Bay on South River called Selbays
                                                                                           (Bay)
