(179) Whatsoever claiming or which may hereafter Claim any Right Title or Interest of in or to the same In Witness whereof the said Samuel Taylor hath hereunto set his hand seal the day and Year above Written Sign'd Seal'd and Delivered In Presence of Sam.l Taylor (Seal) Jn.o Ijams Tho.s Watkins On the Back of the Aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Received the day and year within Mentioned of the within Named Nicholas Maccubbin the within sum of Sixty Seven Pounds Current Money it being the Consideration Money within Mentioned Tests Sam.l Taylor Jn.o Ijams, Tho.s Watkins On the 20.th day of March Seventeen hundred and sixty Seven Came before us the subscribers two of his Lordships Justices for Ann Arundel County the within named Samuel Taylor and did acknowledge the within Indenture to be his Act and Deed and the Land and Premises therein mentioned to be the Right of the within named Nicholas Maccubbin his heirs and Assigns For Ever According to the True Intent and meaning of the within Indenture and the Act of Assembly in such cases made and Provided and at the same time came Catharine the wife of the above Named Samuel Taylor before us and acknowledged her Dower of Right of the within Mentioned Land and Premises to be the Right and Title of the within named Nicholas Maccubbin his heirs and Assigns For Ever and being by us privately examined out of the hearing of her husband said she made her Acknowledgement willingly and freely without being Induced thereto by fears or Threats of or ill usage by her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure Jn.o Ijams Tho.s Watkins March 24.th 1767 Received of M.r Nicholas Maccubbin the sum of Eight shillings Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the alienation fine on the within Land and by virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General Jn.o Brice 9½ sides Recorded the 24 March 1767 Exam.d This Indenture made this sixth day of October in the Year Seventeen hundred and sixty six Between Brian Philpot of Baltimore Town Merchant of the one part and Thomas Philpot of London Merchant of the other Part Whereas the said Brian Philpot is justly indebted to the said |
