(165) Presents Sealed with our Seals and dated this 24.th day of December Anno Domini 1766 The Condition of the above Obligation is such that if the above bound James Brooks whilst he shall continue Clerk of the Commissioners for emitting Bills of Credit shall honestly and faithfully discharge the Duty of Clerk by keeping true fair and regular accounts and Entries of the Proceedings of the said Commissioners According to the Directions of an Act of Assembly Entituled An Act for the Payment of the Public Claims for emitting Bills of Credit and for other purposes therein mentioned Then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in Full Force and Virtue Sealed and Delivered James Brooks (seal) in the Presence of Benj.a Tasker (seal) Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer U Scott (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Bond was thus written Viz.t January the 7.th 1767 Pursuant to the Direction of an Act of Assembly and Act intitled an Act for the payment of the Public Claims for emiting bills of Credit and other purposes therein mentioned you are hereby required and Directed to receive and immediately to Record among the Land Records of Your Office Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer To Reverdy Ghiselin Esq.r Clerk of the Provincial Court 3 Sides Exam.d This Indenture made and Indented this Twenty Seventh day of December in the year of our Lord Christ seventeen hundred and Sixty Six Between Walter Evans of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Planter son and heir at Law of Thomas Evans late of the said County Deceased of the one part and Richard Henderson of the same County and Province Merchant of the other part Witnesseth that the said Walter Evans for and in Consideration of the sum of Three hundred and fifteen Pounds Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said Richard Henderson the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath given Granted Bargained and Sold Aliened Released Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents he the said Walter Evans doth Give Grant Bargain and Sell Alien Release Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Richard Henderson his heirs and Assigns All that part of a Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County aforesaid on the North side of the Eastern Branch of Potowmack River Originally Granted to Andrew Clarke by the name of Mews alias Mears But now called Chance (and) |
