(161) On the Back of the aforegoing Mortgage was Thus written Viz.t December the 16.th 1766 Received of the within named James Dick and Thomas Richardson the sum of one hundred and fourteen pounds eighteen shillings and Seven pence sterling Money and fourteen Pounds ten Shillings Maryland Currency being the Consideration Money within mentioned Received p me Tho.s Browning Witness W.m Woodward On the Sixteenth day of December Seventeen hundred and Sixty Six personally appeared Thomas Browning before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court of the Province of Maryland and Acknowledged the within Indenture to be his Act and Deed and the Mill and the Severall Tracts and Parts of Tracts of Land with the premisses and Appurtenances to them and each and every of them belonging or in any wise appertaining to be the Right and Estate of the said James Dick and Thomas Richardson their Heirs and Assigns According to the True Intent and meaning of the said Indenture and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and Provided Dan of S.t Tho.s Jenifer 1766 December 16.th Received of James Dick and Thomas Richardson the Sum of Eight Shillings and Nine Pence Sterling being the Alienation fine on the within Lands and by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent and receiver General John Brice sides Recorded 16.th December 1766 Exam.d Maryland fs.t Know all Men by these Presents That we Robert Couden Richard Toottel and Nathan Hammond all of the City of Annapolis Gentlemen are held and firmly Bound unto the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary his heirs and successors in the full and just sum of Three Thousand pounds sterling to be paid unto the said Lord Proprietary his heirs and Successors To the which payment well and truly to be made and done we bind ourselves Heirs Executors and Administrators jointly and severally firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals and Dated this Twenty second day of December 1766 The Condition of the Above Obligation is such that if the above bound Robert Couden whilst he shall Continue in the Office of Commissioner for emitting Bills of Credit Shall well and faithfully execute and perform the severall Duties and Trusts required of him to be executed and performed by the Act of Assembly of this Province Entituled an Act for the payment of the (Publick) |
