346 Examined Whereas M.r Barnabas Hughes and I the Subscriber have been in Treaty of and concerning the Purchase of a Tract of Land called Long Meadow Enlarged and proposals have been made by the said M.r Hughes to the subscriber to which the subscriber was willing to agree, But the said M.r Hughes being desirous of making some further enquiry before the completion of the said Purchase Now this Writing Witnesseth that I the said subscriber have agreed to convey to the said M.r Hughes the aforesaid Tract of Land on the consideration following Viz on the Payment of two Thousand Pounds sterling or the value thereof in Pensylvania or Maryland Money according to the Common Course & rate of Exchange which shall Prevail at the Time of Payment, the said M.r Hughes to Elect and Chuse in which of the said species of Money he will pay the said sum, the ^sd^ sum of Money to be paid In the following Manner Viz One third Part of it immediately on the day of Executing the Deed and the other two thirds on the fifteenth first day of May which shall be in the Year of our Lord Seventeen Hundred and sixty three and this Last payment to be secured by such security as the subscriber shall require & the subscriber also agrees to convey the said Land Clear & free from all charge of arrears of quit rents and that the said M.r Hughes may Enter upon the Land and Prepare for a Crop as soon as he shall determine to compleat the purchase on these conditions however the above agreement and every part of it is made by the subscriber Viz that he the said purchase shall be completed by the said M.r Hughes by the first Day of May next Ensuing this Date and that the person now in the Occupation of the premisses shall not be |
