326 Negroes therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named John Gaither according to the true Intent and Meaning thereof & the act of assembly in that case made and provided, taken and acknowledged before David Lynn Recorded the 21.st March 1763 4 s.d Examd This Indenture made this Sixteenth day of March in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and sixty three Between Hercules Coatts of Kent County in the province of Maryland Gentleman of the one part and John Brice of the City of Annapolis Esq.r of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Hercules Coutts for and in consideration of the sum of the sum of three hundred and Twenty pounds current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid by the said John Brice the Receipt whereof the said Hercules doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained sold and conveyed aliened and conveyed assigned enfeoffed and confirmed unto the said John Brice and his Heirs and assigns for ever all the said Hercules Coutts's undivided fourth part of all and singular the Lands with the appurtenances lying & being in Cecil County in the province afd called Warmust Coasters Harbour, Wheelers Warren, High Park Locust Neck, pasture point, the Rounds Brownley and Van der heydens Addition, and all or any other Lands whatsoever in Cecil County aforesaid of which Mathias van der Heyden of Cecil County afd died seised, and which descended to the said Hercules Coutts in Right of his Mother Jane Coutts one of the Daughters and Coheirs of the said Mathias |
