227 Exam.d This Indenture made this first day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand seven hundred & sixty Two between Joseph Belt of Frederick County in the Province of Maryland Tavern Keeper of the one part and John Glassford & Co.y Merchants in Glasgow North Britain of the other Part Witnesseth That Whereas the said Joseph Belt did owe and stand indebted unto several persons in sundry sums of Money Amounting in the whole to Three hundred and Fifty pounds two shillings and ten pence one farthing Currant Money under the Inspection Law, which the said John Glassford & C.o at the special instance and request of the said Joseph Belt, hath paid, satisfied and Discharged in consideration thereof, and also the sum of Five shillings in hand paid by them the said John Glassford & C.o paid unto the said Joseph Belt the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged He the said Joseph Belt hath given, Granted Bargained and sold, and by these Presents doth Give Grant, Bargain and sell, unto the said John Glassford and Company their Heirs & Assigns the two following Lotts of Ground in George Town, Frederick County on Patowmack River Maryland to Wit One N.o Fifty and the other N.o fifty one together with all the Houses, Out houses, Improvements, Advantages & appurtenances to all and every of the said Lotts belonging or deemed to belong or in any Ways appertaining, or deemed to appertain Also the following Eight Negroes to Wit Suck, Sue, Semis Sarah, Jeanie, Cue, Peter & James, with the increase of the said Suck Sue Semis, Sarah & Jeanie Cue, Peter and James, with the increase of the said Suck, Sue, Semis To have and To hold the two several Lots aforesaid with the appurtenencies and also the afd Negroes Suck, Sue, |
