400) ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of these Presents In Witness hereof the said Philip Jackson hath hereunto set his Hand and affixt his Seal the Day and Year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered Philip Jackson (seal) in Presence of Tho.s Clark Loch Weems On the Back of which Deed of Bargain and Sale was Endorst as follows Viz.t September 25.th 1761 Then received of Mary Lucas the sum of one hundred and twenty five pounds Current Money being the Consideration Money within mentioned Witnesses Philip Jackson Tho.s Clark Lock Weems September the 25.th 1761 Then came the within named Philip Jackson before me the subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland and Acknowledged the within Deed and the Lands and Premisses with the appurtenances to be ^the^ right of the within mentioned Mary Lucas her Heirs and Assigns according to the true intent and meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such cases made and Provided Geo Steuart Came Elizabeth ^Jackson^ the Wife of him the within ^mentioned^ named Philip and acknowledged her Right of Dower to the within Land and Premisses to be ^the^ Right and Property of her the said Mary Lucas her Heirs and Assigns And that she did it Freely without threats or compulsion of her said Husband before us two his Lordships Justices for Baltimore County this 16.th day of October 1761 John Hull Jun.r Walt.r Tolley 1761 December 1761 Received of M.rs Mary Lucas Seven Shillings and nine pence one Farthing Sterling for the use of the Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within one hundred and ninety four Acres of Land by Virtue of a commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his said Lordships Agent |
