x.d  This Indenture made the 30.th Day of Oct.r in the year of our
       Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty one Between James Mouat
       of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman of the one Part
       and William Strachan Mariner in the County and Province aforesaid of the other
       Part  Witnesseth That the said James Mouat for and in consideration of the
       Friendship and Affection he beareth to the said William Strachan and in consideration
       of the Sum of Five Shillings Sterling Money by the said William Strachan to
       him in hand paid the Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge  Hath by
       these presents Granted Bargained and Sold Aliened and Confirmed and by
       these Presents Do Grant Bargain Sell Alien and Confirm unto the said
       William Strachan his Heirs and Assigns for ever  All that Tract of Land lying
       in Baltimore County called & Known by the Name of Musgraves Forrest
       containing Two hundred Acres of Ground more or less and all Advantages
       whatsoever to the same belonging or appurtaining  To have and to
       Hold the aforesaid Tract of Land Premisses with all and Singular
       the Appurtenances unto him the said William Strachan his Heirs and
       Assigns for ever and to no other Use Intent and Purpose whatsoever and
       the said James Mouat do hereby for himselve his Heirs and Executors
       Covenant and Agree to and with the said William Strachan his Heirs and
       Assigns  That he the said James Mouat and his Heirs and Assigns the Land
       and Premisses aforesaid with the Appurtenances unto him the said William
       Strachan his Heirs and Assigns from and against all manner of Persons
       claiming or to claim any Right Title or Interest of in or to the aforesaid to be
       granted Premisses or any part or Parcel thereof from or under him the
       aforesaid James Mouat and his Heirs shall and will Warrant and for ever
       defend by these Presents  In Witness whereof to these Presents he hath set
       his Hand and Seal the Day and Year above written

             On the back of the aforegoing Deed of Gift was thus Written to wit
