(302) Reveived on the Day and Year first within written from the within Named Henry Ward Pearce and Annastatia his Wife the sum of five shillings sterling being the consideration within mentioned to be by them paid to me Witness Ja Tilghman 3.d R.d T Earle Rich.d Skinner Be it remembred that on the thirteenth Day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Sixty one came before me the subscriber one of his Lordships Provincial Justices the within named Richard Tilghman Earle and did acknowledge the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and Premisses therein Mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within named Henry Ward Pearce and Annastatia his Wife and the Heirs and Assigns of her the said Annastatia for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the same Deed and the Act of Assembly in such case made and Provided And on the same Day and Year Ann the Wife of the said Richard Tilghman Earle being by me privately examined apart and out of the hearing of her said Husband did acknowledge the within bargained and sold or mentioned or intended to be bargained and sold Land and Premisses to be the right and Estate of the within named Henry Ward Pearce and Annastatia his Wife and the Heirs and Assigns of her the said Annastatia for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the said Deed And did declare and assert that she did make the said acknowledgment voluntarily and freely and without being induced thereto by fears or threats of or ill usage from her said Husband or through fear of his Displeasure 9½ sides R.d Tilghman Recorded 16.th May 1761 |
