299 The word "West" between the thirteenth and fourteenth Line from the Top being first interlined Signed Sealed and Delivered R.d T Earle (seal) In the Presence of Us Ja.s Tilghman 3.d On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Rich.d Skinner written Received on the day and year first within written from the within named Eleanor Carroll the sum of five Shillings Sterling being the consideration within mentioned to be by her paid to me Witness Ja.s Tilghman 3.d R.d T Earle Rich.d Skinner Maryland Sct On the thirteenth day of May in the Year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty one came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Provincial Justices the within named Richard Tilghman Earle and did acknowledge the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and Premisses therein mentioned to be the right and Estate of the within named Eleanor Carroll her Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true intent and meaning of the same Deed and the Act of Assembly in such cases made and provided And on the same day and year Ann the Wife of the said Richard Tilghman Earle being by me privately examined a part out of the hearing of her Said Husband did acknowledge the within bargained and sold or mentioned or intended to be bargained and Sold Land and Premisses to be the right and Estate of the within named Eleanor Carroll and the Heirs and Assigns of the said Eleanor Carroll for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the within Deed and did declare and assert that she did make the said acknowledgment voluntarily and freely and without being induced thereto by fear or threats of or ill usage from her said Husband or through fear of his displeasure R.d Tilghman Recorded 16th May 1761 |
