(199) and Nine Pence Current Money and Interest at or upon the Tenth Day of May Seventeen hundred and sixty one and also afterwards that is to say on or about the first Day of September Seventeen hundred and fifty Nine he the said Charles Homewood for the consideration of Forty pounds Current Money did Mortgage to the said John Brice One other Negro Man ^Named^ Coffea und^er^ the Condition or Proviso to be void upon Payment of the said forty pounds and interest together with the Charge of Drawing and recording that Mortgage at or upon the Twenty Seventh Day of May Seventeen hundred and Sixty one and in and by the said last two recited Mortgages the said Charles Homewood did amongst other Things Covenant and Agree that the said first recited Mortgage and the Lands and Premisses therein Mentioned Should Stand and be Collateral Security for the Consideration Principal Money of the said last recited Two Mortgages and Interest as by the said last recited Mortgages Duly acknowledged and recorded in the records of Ann Arundel County Court relation being thereunto had May More fully and at Large appear And whereas the said Charles Homewood on or about the twentieth day of May Seventeen hundred and Sixty did make and execute his Bond or Obligation to the said John Brice in the Penalty of Three hundred and fourteen Pounds three Shillings Current Money conditioned for the Payment of one hundred and fifty Seven Pounds one Shilling and Seven Pence Current Money and Interest upon the Tenth Day of May Seventeen hundred and Sixty One but if Default should be made in the Payment thereof according to the condition aforesaid then the Said Charles Homewood did thereby agree that the said Several recited Mortgages should stand and be Security for the Payment of the said one hundred fifty seven Pounds One Shilling and Seven Pence and Interest over and above the said Several other before Mentioned Sums of Money as by the said Bond relation being thereunto had may more fully and at Large appear And whereas the said Charles Homewood hath become indebted to him the said John Brice in account over and above the Several Sums of Money aforesaid and Interest in the Sum of Three hundred Thirty three Pounds Sixteen Shillings and four pence payable in Peices of (Eight) |
