(176) 1760 October 20th Received of and from the within named John Worthington Grand Father within named the within Sum of one hundred Pounds sterling money and also the within mentioned five Negroes which are said to be paid and Delivered to me for the consideration within mentioned I say Received Witness Jn.o Brice p me John Worthington son of W.m Benj.a Beall 20th October 1760 Came the within named John Worthington Grand son within named before me the Subscriber one of the Justices of the Provincial Court of the Province of Maryland and did acknowledge the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the Land and Premisses & Chattels within mentioned to be the Right Property and Estate of the within named John Worthington Grand Father to the said John Worthington his Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the true Intent and Meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such cases made and Provided Jn.o Brice 3.d November 1760. Received the Sum of Four Pounds Sterling ^being^ the Alienation Fine for the Land within Mentioned for the Use of the Lord Baltimore 20 sides Edw.d Lloyd Recorded 3.d Novem.r 1760 X.d This Indenture made the Tenth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Between Zachariah $210 Wade of Fairfax County in the Colony of Virginia but now of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman of the one Part and Enoch Magruder of Prince Georges County in the Province aforesaid Merchant of the other part Witnesseth That the said Zachariah Wade party to these Presents for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred and Twenty Pounds nineteen shillings and eight pence Sterling Money of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said Enoch Magruder the Receipt whereof he the said Zachariah Wade doth hereby acknowledge Hath Given Granted (Bargained) |
