(165) Instant October passed for and in consideration of the Sum of Two hundred and Sixty Pounds Current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid the Receipt whereof the said Charles Homewood did thereby acknowledge and himself therewith to be fully clearly and Absolutely Contented Satisfied and paid Did Grant bargain and Sell unto the said Henry Woodward Esq.r four Negroes names Benboe Daniel Kitt als Christopher and Coffee To have and to hold unto the said Henry Woodward Esq.r his Heirs and Assigns for ever as by the said Bill of Sail referance being thereunto had may more fully and at Large appear Now the express Condition of this Obligation is That the Said Henry Woodward Esq.r for and in consideration of the just Sum of one hundred and forty pounds Current Money of Maryland to him in Hand paid by the Said Charles Homewood the Receipt whereof the said Henry Woodward Esq.r doth hereby confess and acknowledge and himself to be therewith fully clearly and Absolutely Contented and paid and therefrom and every part and Parcel thereof doth Acquit Exonerate and Discharge the said Charles Homewood Such Wife as he shall hereafter Marry or his Heirs Executors Administrators and all and every of them to all Intents Limitations Constructions and Purposes whatever and in pursuance of the Statutes of England granted by Royal Prerogative and in such manner and form for granting Bargaining Selling and Delivering as in them and the Laws of this Province are expressly provided Hath Granted bargained Sold and Delivered and Confirmed unto the said Charles Homewood such Wife as he shall hereafter Marry or his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns Two Negro Men or Slaves as his or their proper Negroes or Slaves known by the Distinct names of Daniel and Coffee To have and to hold the aforementioned granted Bargained Sold and Delivered Negroes or Slaves known by the names of Daniel and Cuffee unto the said Charles Homewood Such Wife as he shall hereafter Marry or his Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns for ever and to no other Use Intent Construction or purpose whatsoever And the said Henry Woodward Esq.r for himself and his Heirs the aforesaid slaves unto the said Charles Homewood Such Wife as he shall hereafter Marry or his Heirs and Assigns will well and truly Warrant and (for) |
