507 x.d This Indenture made the Tenth Day of Sep.r In the year of our Lord seventeen hundred & eighteen Between Ignatius Craycroft of Prince Georges County Gent.n of the one part & Charles Carroll of the Citty of Annapolis Esq.r of the other part Witnesseth that the said Ignatius for & in consideration of the sume of one hundred Pounds Curr.t money of Maryland to him in hand paid by y.e s.d Charles the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge & doth acquit & discharge the said Charles of every part and parcell thereof hath given granted bargained sold alienated infeofed & confirmed as by these presents he doth give grant bargain sell alienate enfeofe & confirm unto the said Charles Carroll his heirs & assignes forever all that Tract or parcell of Land lyeing on the west side of Patuxent river in Prince Georges County next adjoyning to the Land of Robert Brook Esq.r called Aquasta begining at a point by a branch called Canadys branch & runing south down the River for breadth seventy five perches to a pine Tree by a branch called Cornelius Branch bound in on the south w.th a line drawn west from the same pyne up the Branch for the length of three hundred & fifty perches on the west with a line drawn North from the end of the west line unto the Land of the said Robert Brooke Esq.r on the north of the said Land on the east of the said River containing two hundred acres more or less Together with all rights profitts rights & benefitts thereunto belonging Royall Mines excepted as also three Negroes named about five & Twenty years of age each To have and To hold the said Tract of Land unto the said Charles Carroll his heirs & assignes forever with all the buildings improvements & appurtenances thereunto belonging or anyways appertaining as also To have and to hold the said Three Negroes unto him the said Charles his Ex.rs Adm.rs or Assignes both Negroes and Land to the only proper use & behoofe of the said Charles Carroll viz.t Land for him & his heirs forever & the Negroes for him his Ex.rs Adm.rs & Assignes & for no other use intent or purpose whatsoever And the said Ignatius doth hereby for himself his heirs Executor & Administrators covenant promise grant and agree To & with the said Charles his heirs Executors & Adm.rs that the said Land & Negroes are at the time of the Insealing & Delivery hereof Clear & free of and from all manner of incumbrances whatsoever as also that in case any of the said Negroes shall happen to Die or other ways be Disabled that then & in such Case the said Ignatius shall at his own Cost & Charges purchas another or so many as shall as aforesaid so die so die to be liable to the condition (or) |
