495 Burgus de Leeds I Edward Iveson Esq.r Major of the Burrough aforesaid do hereby Certifie and Attest to all whom it doth or may concern that Thomas Lockwood in the foregoing Letter of Attorney first named and Daniel Muretell therein also named did respectively sign and seal and as their Act and Deed delivered the said Letter of Attorney in the presence of me and of John Robinson and Susannah Bullough who at the same time (seal) did subscribe their names as Wittnesses thereto In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my had and caused the Comon Seal of this Burrough to be affixed the second day of September Anno Dom 1717 Stilo Magne Britaine Annoq R R.d Georgÿ dei gratia nunc Magne Britaine &.a Quarto Edw Iveson Major x.d This Indenture made the eighth day of September Anno Domini One Thousand seven hundred & fifteen And in the second year of the reign of our sovereigne Lord George by the grace of God of great Brittaine France & Ireland King defender of the faith &c.a Between Thomas Lockwood of Abberford in the County of York Wheelwright onely sonn & heir of Thomas Lockwood deced Brother of Robert Lockwood late of Ann Arundell county in the province of Maryland planter deced and Daniel Muretell of Leeds in the said County of York Gentleman of the one part and Samuel Harrison of the said province of Maryland Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Lockwood party to these presents & the said Daniel Muretell for and in consideration of the sume of Five shillings a peice of Lawfull money of Great Brittaine to them in hand paid by the said Samuell Harrison att & before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof they do hereby severally acknowledge & for diverse other good & Valuable causes and Considerations them hereunto especially moving have & each & either of them hath Bargained sold & demised & do & each & either of them doth hereby bargaine sell & demise unto the said Samuel Harrison all that Estate or parcell of Ground plantation or Plantations with all edifices buildings & appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining scituate lying & being in the province of Maryland on the Western Shore of the said province and all other the Lands plantations or Estate of the said Thomas Lockwood party to these presents (& Daniel) |
